More finds in Jack's scrap box - Miltra figures?

Whilst Jack was busy casting up some figures for me, I had another rummage through his scrap box and moulds.

My latest find - Miltra figures?  Also a mould marked German Para trooper.  The figure has open hands.

Jack tells me that he was one of four making the figures but his role turned into the mould maker, gathering in the work of the other modellers and producing the moulds and casting them.  Anyway some bits for your thoughts.

The first figure in the beret is really well done.

I think both these figures are Poles.  The one in the helmet looks like he should have been seated on a gun.

The brown staining on the figure loading looks like rust!

  2. Yup they are Miltra. I have listings posted on my Old Metal Director blog at http://theoldmetaldetector.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Miltra?m=1

    1. I keep finding bits of the range here and there in Jack's garage, he has literally hundreds of moulds going back who knows how many years, and sometimes not the two parts together! He says the Miltra moulds were rotational ones and he certainly doesn't have those, although the German Paratrooper mould looks like a Miltra figure and that is a hand cast job. But what to do with a handfull of figures from a lost range?

    2. Well the story is the Miltra moulds were shot when Trux had them and when that closed down they were binned. (Those Miltra lists are from a Trux catalogue). Which could possibly make them desirable. I bought a big bunch of packets of Miltra German figures on eBay a while ago but didn't win the same seller's German figures, which I guess left two disgruntled buyers. I do have some French figures which have served for a long time and I am always on the look out for Miltra figures, though they seldom turn up

    3. I meant I bought a big bunch of weapon packs, not figures!

    4. Interesting about the moulds, Jack thought they had been binned when Bish's wife moved. There are some duplicates of some of the figures in the scrap box and some tiny bits, machine gun may have settled into the recesses of the box. I will get him to run off a figure from the mould marked German Paratrooper as this may be a Miltra figure. There also some moulds of rifles which don't immediately look like Jacklex ones, but looking at a mould sometimes it is hard to tell. We keep saying we have to sort all these moulds out before too long as Jack says every now and then about binning them. Came across moulds and parts for what looks to me like a Schneider WW1 tank - not sure it is complete. Again Jack can't remember who he made the mould for. I will rescue it and take pics but any initial thoughts?

    5. Can't think of anything re the tank but will see if I can find any suggestion. I think you should see if Jack would recast some of that British officer - I would think you may have drummed up some business for it and I would certainly be up for a few.

    6. I need to have a long rummage in Jack's garage before it gets too cold. You never know I might find a mould of this figure. I have taken some close ups so you can see what he is like.

  3. They're absolute crackers, whatever they are. Modern manufacturers never seem to get the correct anatomical proportions anything near so exact. Thanks for posting!

  4. Hi WM, thanks for posting. The British Officer in the beret in picture 1 is one of the best 20mm figure I have come across in a long time. He has a sort of presence about him if you get my drift.
